The story of Oscar’s Automotive begins all the way on March 2nd 1958 in Malimpec Malasiqui Pangasinan when Oscar was born. He was raised there until the age of 17. Oscar, the seventh of ten total children, moved to Fairfield, California where he worked on multiple farms with his siblings until he was twenty-one. He then decided to move to Boise Idaho to attend Job Corps and learn how to become an automotive mechanic. He graduated the program a couple years later with a degree in Automotive Repair and was quickly offered a job at Lyle Pearson Mercedes–Benz of Boise. Due to his hard work, ethics and willingness to learn he became a valuable asset to that team. He worked for the dealer from 1980 to 2002, where he was able to continue his automotive education one to two weeks at a time, twice a year to do training where he learned to specialize in Mercedes, Volvo and Saab.
In 2002 he decided that he wanted to start his own business, left the dealer and opened his own shop working for himself. That’s when the reputation in the Treasure Valley began to grow for his honest hard work and ability to make people laugh even when they couldn’t understand him. He started with one shop lift and after 4 years he was able to get a second shop lift to help with the ever-increasing demand of his automotive business. He worked on his own until 2010 when his two sons, Eric and Bradley, decided they wanted to get into the automotive business with him and expand his business even further. The three of them opened the shop, Oscar’s Automotive, on Bethel Ct and have, through many difficult years, grown the business to employing 6 total members and having 5 shop lifts and 6 bays.
During those years of growth, both Eric and Brad have left at different times. Eric left to support his family for a period of time in Alaska and Brad left to pursue an education to further his understanding of the business. Since its inception, 9+ years passed and the managing members of the business came back together to continue making a push to become a world-class organization.
Today our team focuses specifically on Mercedes-Benz, BMW, MINI Cooper and Smart cars. As we continue to move into the future, we remain focused on providing the best experience we can for the members of this business and customers alike.
